The evening starts off with snow showers at the top of Scotland, cloud and spells of rain in the far south of England, but otherwise it is largely clear across the UK. As the night goes on the cloud and rain in southern England dissipates but wintry showers arrive from the north in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on a strong northerly wind, which will be quite strong along the east coast of the UK.
