Ilya Lichtenstein was sentenced to five years for a money-laundering scheme to conceal stolen cryptocurrency. Lichtenstein hacked Bitfinex in 2016, siphoning off 120,000 bitcoins valued at $70 million. The bitcoin is worth over $10 billion and was partially recovered by the Department of Justice, with plans to return it to rightful owners. Lichtenstein's wife, Heather Morgan, a lesser participant in the scheme, will be sentenced Monday.
