James McAvoy has certainly been doing the rounds recently, photos of him hanging out in local establishments have been flying across social media.
The actor has returned to his hometown to film his latest movie California Schemin’ which is set in various locations across the city and Dundee.
The film, which also marks his directorial debut, will chart the true story of a Scottish rap duo who conned the international music industry by adopting American accents and pretending to be established Californian musicians to be taken seriously and secure a record deal.
Filming is currently underway in Glasgow between the 6 and 20 November and audiences will be able to recognise a number of Glasgow locations.
The Barrowlands area has been used with a mural of Ewan McGregor’s Trainspotting character Mark Renton, designed by renowned graffiti artist Rogue One, put up as a back drop on Charlotte Street.
Other filming locations include Maryhill, Park Circus and Glasgow Green.
James McAvoy has said the movie is rooted in the Californian rap scene but the story starts in the working class Scottish setting.
