Duterte lawyer explains 'kill' order against drug suspects
Salvador Panelo, former chief legal counsel of ex-president Rodrigo Duterte, says his client's statement on Nov. 13, 2024 that he ordered the killing of drug suspects was not actually an order but a threat so that they would change their ways. Speaking before a committee of the House of Representatives investigating Dutere's drug war during his term, Panelo said the former president was ready to face any charges and cases if victims thought that he was liable for all the drug deaths in the country.
