SPT have announced that they will be extending the public operating hours of Glasgow Subway from Sunday 10 November until Sunday 22 December this year to allow passengers to make the most out of the city this festive period.
Over the course of six weeks the underground will be open until 8:30pm, extending from its usual 6pm closure.
From Buchanan Street Station and St Enoch’s station you will be able to access the Christmas WinterFest spread across George Square and St Enoch’s Square.
Festivities will also be rife across the West End. From Hillhead station you can quickly get to celebrations on Ashton Lane, while there will also be a market, Christmas lights and live music at Vinicombe Street beside Hillhead Bookclub.
Also from Partick station you will be able to reach a market at the Riverside Museum.
Park and Ride is also available at three locations - Kelvinbridge, Bridge Street and Shields Road.
Glasgow Subway will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and operating on reduced hours on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, Hogmanay and 2 January.
