Li Changjiang, a retired veteran, is implicated in a robbery by two of his comrades and sentenced to death. Just before his execution, Changjiang escapes using a hacksaw that his father had given him. He finds a group of human traffickers and successfully escapes to Hong Kong. On his journey, he meets Chi Xin and A Man. When his relatives in Hong Kong refuse to take him in, Changjiang is forced to work off a debt for the leader of the trafficking group, Liang Ge, at a construction site. During this time, Changjiang learns that A Man has been sold into prostitution and spends every day thinking of ways to rescue her. Changjiang battles alone against a smuggling gang but is ultimately defeated. In the end, he helps Sha Pi Zhuo, the leader of a Hunan gang, rob a store and uses the gang's power to rescue A Man...
