It goes without saying that Thanksgiving doesn’t feel the same unless all family members are under the same roof.
"I attend Western University in London, Ontario, and our reading week aligns with Thanksgiving weekend," Carlie Jo, the returnee, shared with WooGlobe. "I told my mom I’d stay in London for the break, and that she wouldn’t see me until Christmas, which made her sad.
"But I secretly booked a flight and on Saturday, Oct 12, while texting her that I was taking a nap, I was actually boarding my 5-hour flight from Toronto to Vancouver."
