60,00 Chickens Culled Amid Avian Flu Outbreak in Southern Taiwan

Nearly 60,000 hens have been culled at a poultry farm in Chiayi County after workers reported abnormal deaths of chickens, and cases of the highly contagious H1N1 avian flu were confirmed. These were the country’s first voluntarily reported cases of avian flu this fall.
