McDonald’s confirmed a California-based produce supplier, Taylor Farms, as the source of fresh onions linked to a deadly E. coli outbreak. This contamination led McDonald’s to remove Quarter Pounder hamburgers from multiple locations.  Yum Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC, has also pulled onions from select restaurants as a precaution. Restaurant Brands International, which owns Burger King, followed suit, removing onions from locations connected to Taylor Farms’ Colorado facility.
