Spirit AeroSystems is considering further layoffs or furloughs of hundreds of employees if the Boeing machinists' strike extends beyond November 25th. The machinists voted 64% against a new labor contract this week, continuing a work stoppage that halted production of most Boeing aircraft. Spirit manufactures fuselages for the Boeing 737 Max, had already planned to furlough around 700 employees in Wichita, Kansas, beginning next week. The prolonged strike has strained the aerospace supply chain, impacting Boeing and Airbus suppliers.
