Philip Esformes, who had his prison sentence commuted by Donald Trump in 2020, was arrested over the weekend in Florida on domestic violence-related charges. Esformes is the seventh individual who received executive clemency from Trump to face new charges following his earlier conviction. Philip Esformes, a former owner of Florida nursing homes, was convicted in 2019 for a $1.3 billion Medicare fraud, the largest healthcare fraud scheme the Department of Justice had ever prosecuted.
