How Do I Know the Difference in God’s Direction and My Own Thoughts

2024-10-14 7

This is a great question. The quickest way I know to tell the difference in what you are thinking is to ask if it’s rooted in: anger, rudeness, envy, pride, unforgiveness, boastfulness, selfishness. If it is, that’s not from God.

On the other hand, if it’s rooted in: patience, kindness, truthfulness, protecting others, trusting, hoping, or persevering—that might be from the Lord. If you still say: I get that but I still don’t understand the voices I am hearing? Which direction should I go? How do I know?

If you are not sure, then you need to wait. You need to be patient. Love is patient. God is patient, but it matters how you wait. If your waiting means doing nothing, then I don’t think you are going to learn anything. I don’t think you are going to find your way.

While you wait, you work as unto the Lord. Waiting just means you drop the anchor; you don’t go anywhere. But while you are there, you do everything you can as unto the Lord. You do everything you can to live a loving life. And as you live a loving life, one loving decision at a time, God will get you there. He will take you where you are supposed to go. And patience will reveal to you who you are hearing from.

Trust God’s Word no matter what, because His word is truth.

Keep your eyes on the horizon.

You’ll understand more about this if you read my book, “The Right Fight: How To Live a Loving Life.” I spent seven years writing it. It will change your life. Order the book on Amazon and at shieldsofstrengInst.com .
