In 1961, during a vacation in Hollywood on Thanksgiving Day, she was noticed by producer Hal B. Wallis, husband of actress Martha Hyer, who offered her an audition for the drama film, then in production, Summer and Smoke by Peter Glenville, based on a play by Tennessee Williams. While continuing to model, she was employed in other brilliant genre films, such as At the Fair for a Husband (1962) by José Ferrer, Appointment in the Clouds (1963) by Henry Levin and While Adam Sleeps (1964) by Jean Negulesco. In the middle of the decade, the actress moved to Italy to act in various films. Her best-known and most successful performance in these years is probably that of the worker from the Marche region Marisa Di Giovanni in the film Torment Me but Satisfy Me with Kisses (1968) by Dino Risi, where she acted alongside Nino Manfredi and Ugo Tognazzi[3]; previously, together with Marcello Mastroianni she had taken part in one of the episodes of the film Today, Tomorrow, the Day After Tomorrow (1965). Wallis, marito dell'attrice Martha Hyer, che le propose un provino per il film drammatico, allora in produzione, Estate e fumo di Peter Glenville, tratto da una pièce di Tennessee Williams.Pur continuando a fare la modella, fu impiegata in altri film di genere brillante, come Alla fiera per un marito (1962) di José Ferrer, Appuntamento fra le nuvole (1963) di Henry Levin e Mentre Adamo dorme (1964) di Jean Negulesco.A metà del decennio l'attrice si trasferì in Italia per recitare in vari film.La sua interpretazione più nota e riuscita in questi anni è probabilmente quella dell'operaia marchigiana Marisa Di Giovanni nel film Straziami ma di baci saziami (1968) di Dino Risi, ove recitò accanto a Nino Manfredi e Ugo Tognazzi[3]; in precedenza, assieme a Marcello Mastroianni aveva preso parte a uno degli episodi del film Oggi, domani, dopodomani (1965).È morta a New York il 2 dicembre 2020 all'età di 78 anni
