Kenneth Wayne Paul Tobias (July 25, 1945 – October 2, 2024) was a Canadian singer-songwriter. He is known for writing the 1971 chart-topping hit for The Bells, "Stay Awhile", and for several hit recordings of his own. In 1970, he wrote "Stay Awhile". Although originally conceived as a solo piece with country overtones, the song would emerge as a sultry duet by The Bells and become an early 1970s soft rock classic, peaking in 1971 at No. 1 in Canada and No. 7 on the US Billboard charts. "Stay Awhile" has sold more than two million copies worldwide. Tobias died of brain cancer in Saint John, on October 2, 2024, at the age of 79.
