The Golden Touch: King Midas' Tale

2024-09-26 4

King Midas lived in a grand castle. He loved gold more than anything. His rooms overflowed with golden statues. Chests of gold coins lined the hallways. Every day, King Midas counted his treasures. He dreamed of even more gold filling his castle. He believed gold made him happy. More than anything, he wished everything he touched would turn to gold. One sunny afternoon, a magical fairy appeared in King Midas' room. She granted him a wish as a reward for his kindness to a lost satyr. The fairy listened to King Midas' greatest desire. He told her of his longing for the golden touch. The fairy warned him to be careful what he wished for. Magic, she said, could be tricky. King Midas was so excited, he didn't hear her words of caution. He eagerly accepted the fairy's gift. He thanked her profusely, barely able to contain his excitement. He could hardly wait to try out his new magical power. He pictured his entire kingdom turning into gleaming, shimmering gold. With a twinkle, the fairy disappeared, leaving King Midas with his golden touch.
