In Lebanon, videos on social media show mass evacuations from major cities as authorities open schools to shelter thousands of newly displaced residents.

The Israel Defense Forces reported striking 1,600 targets across Lebanon on Monday, including homes housing weapons deemed a direct threat. This marks the deadliest wave of airstrikes since the 2006 war with Hezbollah, raising fears of an all-out conflict along the volatile border. The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported 558 casualties, including 50 children and 94 women, from the Israeli strikes.

Tens of thousands of Israelis have been displaced in northern Israel since last October due to relentless Hezbollah rocket fire, and the Israeli cabinet recently prioritized the safe return of these residents to their homes.

CGTN Europe's Evangelos Sipsas was among those stranded in traffic.
