Four killed and dozens hurt in shooting outside Alabama nightclub
At least four people were killed and dozens more injured after gunmen opened fire on a crowd outside a nightclub in Birmingham, Alabama.
Police said “multiple shooters fired multiple shots on a group of people” in the nightlife district of Five Points South just after 11pm on Saturday. Officers arriving at the scene found two men and a woman dead on the pavement. The fourth victim, a man, was declared dead in hospital.
Birmingham police chief Scott Thurmond said that detectives believe one of the people killed was the target of the shooting in a potential murder-for-hire. He said that a vehicle pulled up outside the club and “multiple shooters” got out and opened fire.
