Senator Chuck Grassley is investigating the Secret Service’s handling of security during the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in July. Butler County law enforcement officials claim they warned Secret Service agents about securing the roof of a nearby building, but agents assured them they "would take care of it." The shooter, Thomas Crooks, later fired from that rooftop, injuring Trump and killing one attendee. Grassley is pressing the Secret Service for an explanation, as the Secret Service previously indicated local authorities had a plan.
