An investigation into council tax bases has uncovered a staggering number of properties in Birmingham that have been empty for over six months. With 6,402 empty homes, Birmingham tops the list of local authorities in England with the most unoccupied properties. Across England, a total of 269,395 properties have been found to be empty.
