During a recent road trip down to Ocean City, Maryland, we ended up making a number of stops along the way. One of our first stops was at Wilmington Home Amusements in Delaware; this is primarily a retailer and supplier of games, but the showroom is open as a free-play arcade during business hours at a rate of $10 an hour. There's a fair amount of games out on the floor here, including a lot of classics! The owner, Scott, was nice enough to give us a tour of the facilities, including the massive warehouse in the back and workshop area where he tunes up the machines. There's a little bit of footage from the warehouse at the end of the video that was recorded with his express permission; our thanks go out to him for allowing us access.
Some favorites of the trip include the DDR Extreme cab; while the monitor was a bit on the fuzzy side, the pads played great, dare I say, better than some of the more modern cabs you see at D&B or Round1! Daytona 2 is always a big favorite, especially with the motion cabs. And although the pinball machines were kind of hit or miss, the Cirqus Voltaire machine was in absolutely fantastic shape and it's such a fun game to play.
