QuadComm seeks SC denial of Ong's petition to stop hearings
House of Representatives' Quad Committee Chairman Robert Barbers, during a press conference on Sept. 13, 2024, hopes that the Supreme Court will deny the motion of Cassandra Li Ong to stop the committee hearings and notes that the only group that causes Ong stress is her team of lawyers led by Ferdinand Topacio. This was in reply to the request of Ong, relayed by Topacio last week, that she preferred jail to being humiliated during committee hearings. Meanwhile, Quad Comm co-Chairman Bienvenido Abante Jr. said that former presidential spokesman Harry Roque's claim that the committee was a 'kangaroo court' was unfounded and believed that he had an 'ax to grind' against the committee.
