EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has said progress toward a ceasefire in Gaza is hindered because “those who are waging war have no interest in putting an end to it – they are pretending.”
Speaking in Cairo during a news conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Borrell said the EU is trying to work on a ceasefire and hostage deal, but despaired at the lack of progress: "A ceasefire has been announced so many times, we are almost there, but we are not there. Why? Quite simple: because those who are waging war have no interest in putting an end to it – they are pretending.”
