Cries of ‘shame’ were heard in the Commons on Tuesday as Tory efforts to save winter fuel payments for millions of pensioners failed.By a majority of 120 the Prime Minister’s cut survived the vote. Just one Labour MP who had not already had the whip suspended voted against the government - Jon Trickett.
