A murder investigation has been opened after a woman was discovered dead with "multiple wounds."
Officers opened the investigation after the death of a 35-year-old woman in Bury, near Manchester, last night (06/09).
Police responded to reports of a welfare concern in Walnut Avenue around 10:30pm.
Upon arrival, a woman was discovered with multiple wounds, and pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
No arrests have been made, but officers have identified a suspect who they believe to be involved - but say they "do not pose a threat to the wider community at the time."
