The Arch of Constantine in Rome, built in 315 AD, has been left damaged by a lightning strike after a powerful storm.

The Arch stands next to Rome’s Colosseum and was constructed in honor of Constantine the Great - the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity.

After lightning struck the Arch, a block of 1,700 year-old marble tumbled to the ground.

Repairs are underway.
