Former Vice Premier Cheng Wen-tsan Charged With Corruption, Released On Bail

Former Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan has been released on bail of over US$800,000 after being indicted on corruption charges. Cheng is accused of accepting bribes in connection to a redistricting project in Taoyuan during his tenure as mayor from 2014 to 2022. Prosecutors are seeking a 12-year prison sentence in the case.
