### Homemade Margherita Pizza Recipe

#### Ingredients:

##### For the Dough:
- **2 1/4 teaspoons** (1 packet) active dry yeast
- **1 1/2 cups** warm water (110°F/45°C)
- **3 1/2 to 4 cups** all-purpose flour
- **2 tablespoons** olive oil
- **2 tablespoons** sugar
- **1 teaspoon** salt

##### For the Sauce:
- **1 can (15 oz)** tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- **2 cloves** garlic, minced
- **1 teaspoon** dried oregano
- **1 teaspoon** dried basil
- **1/2 teaspoon** salt
- **1/2 teaspoon** sugar
- **1 tablespoon** olive oil

##### For the Toppings:
- **1 1/2 cups** shredded mozzarella cheese
- **1/2 cup** fresh basil leaves (or more, to taste)
- **2 tablespoons** olive oil (for drizzling)
- **Freshly ground black pepper**, to taste

- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
