Sunderland City Council Leader Michael Mordey has made clear that the Stadium of Light hosting the opening match if the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup will show the “true” Sunderland, following the recent riots in the city. Mordey was present along with other dignitaries to mark the one year countdown to the opening match featuring the Red Roses. Daniel Wales reports.
