The Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have officially come to an agreement and Lamb is staying in Dallas for the next four years. Lamb’s contract was extended on Monday morning to a 4-year deal with 136 million dollars.

The 25-year-old becomes the NFL’s second-highest-paid non-quarterback averaging a total of $34 million a year. Lamb’s deal includes $100 million guaranteed and a $38 million signing bonus, the largest ever for a wide receiver. He trails only the $35 million APY set by Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, the 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, who signed a four-year, $140 million contract on June 3.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said he’s thrilled to have Lamb back.

“It was just great to get the contract in place and obviously have him back. The schedule we have for the week fits into a ramp-up mode. We’re gonna have a plan for him. … We do have to be smart with him, and that’s our plan.”

He said they are going to be careful with him but Lamb has been doing workouts on his own the entire time he was holding out so he should be ready to go.

“The overall conditioning I don’t think is going to be a concern. … He needs body on body contested catches, have his contact balance tested. You really only get that playing football.” McCarthy stated.

Quarterback Dak Prescott had some nice things to say about his teammate as well after the news broke, “He’s talented. He works hard. He’s special. He’s the best receiver in the league for a reason. And I’ve seen Instagram videos. I know you’ve seen him. He’s working. And he works hard. So I have no angst, no worries about when he gets here that we’re not going to pick up where we left off.

“And when you’re a stud like that and you’re smart like he is and you’re good at communicating, that makes that process that much easier. So it’s not like we’ve got to build something. We’ve got that. We just got to reignite it when he gets here.” Prescott stated.

Cowboys practice will resume Tuesday and Lamb will be in attendance. Welcome back 88.
