Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that the Biden Administration pressured the company to censor COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, in 2021. Zuckerberg expressed regret for not being more outspoken at the time, noting that he believed the “government pressure was wrong.”  The White House stated that during the pandemic, they encouraged tech companies to act responsibly to protect public health while allowing them to make independent decisions about the information they share. Zuckerberg stated that he would remain neutral in the upcoming U.S. presidential election and would not contribute to electoral infrastructure, unlike in the previous election.
