The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday, August 26, demanded Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's resignation, alleging that he had approved the cutting of 1,100 trees in the capital's Ridge area. AAP leader and Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said the project contractor has submitted an affidavit, stating that in an email received from the DDA (Delhi Development Authority), he was told that permission to remove the trees had been granted by the lieutenant governor.
