Located in the center of the island, the Kai Bae Waterfall is situated in a beautiful tropical rain forest. A trail leads alongside the side of the river. The trail is well marked. It was the rainy season, so the waterfall was very powerful. Well worth the hike. You hike about 15 minutes in the jungle. The waterfall is quite big but not many people go there. This is a beautiful waterfall a bit outside of the village of Kai Bae. You have to pay the landowner a small fee (40 baht) and can then walk along the river for about 500 meters to the waterfall. There are some difficult passages so you should be fit. There is a small pond below the waterfall where you can swim. Not many tourists come here so the chance is high that you will be there all by yourself.
