She decided to play a spooky trick. She painted her face to look scary and crept to her mom's room.
Quietly, she knocked on the door. Her mom was fast asleep. Carol waited patiently for her mom to open the door.
Finally, the door creaked open.
Carol’s mom stepped out and saw the scary face.
She screamed so loudly that the whole house shook!
But this time, it seemed like she was tired of Carol’s scary pranks.
