ISIS planned suicide attack’ at Taylor Swift concert in Vienna
Three sold-out Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna have been cancelled after three males were arrested on suspicion of plotting an Islamist terrorist attack, but police were said to be searching for potential accomplices.
A major police operation took place in Ternitz, south of the Austrian capital, on Wednesday, with residents evacuated and roads closed, according to local media.
The Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported that a 19-year-old man from the town, who is said to have pledged allegiance to Islamic State, was arrested at his parents’ house on suspicion of terrorism. Another suspect, aged 17, was arrested in Vienna before the American singer’s concerts there, due to start on Thursday. A third person, also aged 17, was later arrested according to Kurier newspaper.
