Part 1 of 6 of the evocative TV drama from 1983. The unlikely friendship between Johnny Jarvis and Alan Lipton begins in their last year at a comprehensive in Hackney: Jarvis, the loveable clown with a surprising talent for welding, and Lipton, the apparently talentless reject, fantasising about the future and the father he has never met. At the end of the year, they have to confront the adult world.
Another old drama from 1983, this I managed to save from Mick's Nostalgia Channel when it was on Youtube last year. The 1980's have always fascinated me, and it certainly evokes an era here. I am uploading this because it is old, and also to see how long this remains up, but I won't be doing this regularly like I used to. These are only uploaded for people to enjoy or who remember stuff like this. And when they don't release certain shows that are only available on old video tapes (I'm thinking of my recently removed Heart of the Country from 1987) how are people supposed to see classics from years ago otherwise? Anyway, enjoy.
