A banner featuring a lettuce with the words "I crashed the economy" was unfurled during her pro-Trump speech, referencing her brief 49-day premiership.
The lettuce is a reference to a stunt by a British newspaper, who set up a live feed in October 2022 of an unrefrigerated iceberg next to a photo of Truss, asking readers "Which wet lettuce will last longer?"
