Former President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk hosted a much-anticipated conversation on X (formerly Twitter) after a significant delay due to technical difficulties. The interview, which was postponed by over 40 minutes, marked Trump’s return to the platform after a long hiatus.
The delay occurred after Musk claimed a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack had targeted X’s servers, though it remains unclear whether this was an actual attack or simply a result of high user demand. Musk later mentioned that X had tested its system with 8 million concurrent listeners earlier that day.
Once the conversation finally began, Trump and Musk covered a wide range of topics, including energy policy, immigration, climate change, and government spending. Musk, who has endorsed Trump, suggested forming a new presidential commission on government efficiency, to which Trump expressed strong interest.
The discussion also touched on Trump’s recent survival of an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump praised the quick response of local law enforcement and the Secret Service in thwarting the attack.
