The government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo announced the release of 527 prisoners from Makala central prison in Kinshasa. The Congolese Minister of Justice, Constant Mutamba, delivered two thousand mattresses to the inmates, out of a total of seven thousand mattresses requested by the inmates. The official detailed that his administration seeks to improve the conditions of the penitentiary centers.
