Restaurant Brands International reported second-quarter revenue that came in just above estimates. Net income was up from a year ago. Same-store sales for Tim Hortons and Popeyes increased, driving overall growth, while Burger King and Firehouse Subs both saw declines. RBI completed its acquisition of Popeyes China, which will be included in the results going forward. The company also acquired Burger King franchise restaurants in the US from Carrols.
