A savvy mother has revealed how she cuts the cost of entertaining her children by up to 70 per cent during school holidays.
New research reveals that parents spend around £1,000 on average to keep the children cheerful during the Summer break, according to Hodge, a financial services provider.
But stay-at-home mother, Charlotte Deering, who lives in Manchester, has budgeted just £300 for the six-week break.
The 28-year-old, who has a young daughter, is an expert at pinching pennies - and is sharing her secrets with other parents via TikTok, where she is known as @themoneyferret.
'There is an immense amount of pressure on parents and caregivers to make every day in the school holidays fun and create happy memories,' said Charlotte.
