The FDA has issued a warning about reports of people overdosing on compounded semaglutide, a popular medication used for weight loss. Incidents involved drawing incorrect doses from vials of semaglutide and self-administering as much as twenty times the intended dose. Some overdoses required hospitalization. Dosing errors occurred due to patients incorrectly measuring doses and healthcare providers miscalculating doses when drawing from vials.
