In June 1962, inmates Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers, John and Clarence, executed one of the most famous escape attempts in history from the notorious Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary. Using makeshift tools and rafts crafted from raincoats, they managed to slip through their cell vents and make their way into the icy waters of San Francisco Bay. Despite an extensive manhunt, the escapees were never found, and their fate remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in criminal history.
