IOC speak to Israeli delegation over death threats to athletes
The IOC has spoken to Israel's National Olympic Committee after a number of its athletes received death threats, their NOC Relations Director told a press conference on Saturday, July 20.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine has heightened tensions at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
"Threats happen to athletes on a regular basis," James Macleod told the media. "We do understand, obviously, the Israeli athletes are receiving more. There are a number of safeguarding practices that we put in place straight away together with the NOC to make sure that those are dealt with."
