Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley gave a speech at the RNC in which she pledged her full support for Donald Trump after criticizing him in the past. Other former opponents of Trump, like Florida governor Ron DeSantis and senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, also expressed their support for Trump in their speeches. Several Republican candidates for Senate and House focused on criticizing the media and Democratic policies in their speeches. Lara Trump, the former president’s daughter-in-law and co-chair of the national party, closed out the night with an emotional speech praising Trump and saying people were better off under him.
