The government plans to explore assistance and methods for transitioning traditional durian cultivation to high-value durians, potentially creating a new economic boom for the country.
In response to Sim Tze Tzin (PH-Bayan Baru) in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (July 17) on proposals for durian tourism and the establishment of a durian board, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu acknowledged the existence of durian tourism and said that the ministry would further discuss the creation of a durian board.
