1961 Westclox TV commercial - humorous ad with character actor Richard Erdman. This was an embedded ad, which was done in character as the sitcom character Richard Fairfield III, from the sitcom "The Tab Hunter Show". Granted that show was an obscure 1 season show, but Erdman guest starred on many, many 1960s sitcoms.

I most remember his "Hogan's Heroes" character. His character's name was Walter Hobson. He was a journalist, who had to parachute to safety, and was rescued by the POWs. He wanted to show his gratitude for being rescued, by unknowingly wanting to spill the beans on the exploits of the POWs. Even though he was told that a printed story would be detrimental to their health, the STUPID journalist ultimately did write the story. Most of the time the German military was clueless, but in this case they put two and two together. Hogan was able to save the operation.
