The TSA screened over 3 million passengers at airport security checkpoints nationwide on Monday, setting a new single-day record. More people flew on airplanes in a single day in the U.S. on July 7th than any other day since the TSA was founded in 2001. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas congratulated the TSA workforce on their "extraordinary achievement." Over 3 million passengers equates to screening around 35 people per second including their luggage.
