Food and drinking water scarce in parts of northeast India ravaged by flood
Severe floods continued to devastate India's Assam state on July 5 and July 6 where houses and fields remain submerged in deep floodwater.
Floods have ravaged the state since June as incessant rains caused River Brahmaputra and its tributaries to flow over the danger level.
Barpeta resident, Jahangir Alam, said there was no food or drinkable water and that people were living under one roof with their livestock.
