GM reported its best quarterly sales over three years, with total sales, up 0.6% from last year. Sales of GM's full-size pickup trucks were up approximately 6% year-over-year. GM's electric vehicle deliveries increased by 40% in Q2 compared to the previous year. GM's year-to-date sales through the first half of 2024 were down 0.4% at around 1.3 million vehicles. Industry analysts expect overall US auto sales to be roughly flat for Q2 compared to last year amid slowing retail demand.
