Thousands of dead fish have appeared in an urban waterway in Kaohsiung, in southern Taiwan. Local officials say the fish likely died due to wastewater discharge, low oxygen and water levels, and excessive heat. The city government says a nearby food processing factory had been illegally releasing its runoff into the river.
